Configuring CDN

The CDN is configured externally, outside the C1 Console. The following are the steps required for the add-on to integrate with Azure CDN and done via the Microsoft Azure portal.

  1. Create a CDN profile.
  2. Create an endpoint within the profile.
  3. Get the CDN endpoint hostname.
  4. Configure the Query string caching for the endpoint.

Creating a CDN profile

  1. In the Microsoft Azure portal, open "CDN profiles" ("More Services" / "Networking" / "CDN profiles").
  2. Click "Add" to add a new profile.
  3. Fill out the required fields:
    1. Specify the name of your CDN profile (for example, "ContosoCDN").
    2. Select the subscription
    3. Select a resource group, or enter the name for a new resource group
    4. Select the location for a resource group if you have chosen to create a new one.

Getting the CDN endpoint hostname

Microsoft Azure will generate a hostname for your CDN endpoint appending ".azureedge.net" to the name of your endpoint, for example: contoso.azureedge.net.

  • Copy, or make a note of this hostname

You will need this hostname when configuring the CDN Publisher in the C1 Console.

You can also set up your own hostname for the endpoint ("CDN profiles" / [your profile] / "Endpoints" / [your endpoint] / "Custom domains"). In this case, copy or make a note of this custom hostname.

Configuring the Query string caching

  1. Open your endpoint.
  2. Switch to "Advanced Features"
  3. Click "Manage". It will open in a separate page.
  4. On this page, click "HTTP LARGE" / "Cache settings" / "Query String caching".
  5. Select "unique-cache".
  6. Click "Update".

It will take an hour or so for the change to come into effect.
