C1 CMS Versions supported

This package requires CMS version 4.2 or newer (Build: 4.2.5249.32246).

Launch the CMS Console, then open the top menu item “Help” and click “About C1 CMS”.

Pre-Installation Steps

To show a full-size image from a Flickr album in a light box on your website, we recommend that you install Orckestra.Media.ImageGallery.Slimbox2.

(Read more on Orckestra.Media.ImageGallery.Slimbox2.)

Installation steps

  1. Log into the CMS Console as an administrator.
  2. Go to the "System" perspective.
  3. Open the folders “Packages” | “Available Packages” | " Orckestra.Media.ImageGallery".
  4. Select " Orckestra.Media.ImageGallery.Flickr" and click “Install”.
  5. Complete the wizard.

Post-Installation Steps

To display Flickr photos, you will need:

Flickr API Key

To use the functions from the package, you need a Flickr API Key. To get the API key:

  1. Log in to your Flickr account. (You should register with Flickr if you have no account yet.)
  2. Request an API key.  Here, you will need to choose whether you will use the key for personal or commercial purposes and fill out a request form.

You will get an API key similar to "41a54e94dce7fc0d65014bc166de6602".

Now add the API Key in C1 CMS:

  1. In the Content perspective, expand Website Items.
  2. Select Flickr API Key and click Add Data.
  3. Fill the fields:
    • Flickr API Key Title: The title of the API Key you will refer to from functions (e.g. "Default Key")
    • Flickr API Key: The API Key you have requested in your Flickr's account as described above.
  4. Click Save.

Note. This should be a one-time procedure and you can then reuse the Flickr API Key throughout your website.

You can view your existing apps and their API keys at http://www.flickr.com/services/apps.

Flickr User ID

A Flickr account can have a screen name, a username, an alias in the account's web address and the user ID for reference.

To use functions of the Composite.Media.ImageGallery.Flickr add-on, you will only need the user ID. It looks like '52383228@N03'.

Note. You cannot, however, use the screen name, the username or an alias in the web address instead with these functions.

You should find out the user ID of the account the photos from which you want to display.

  1. Log in to your Flickr account.
  2. On the top menu, click "You".

This will open the account's photostream in your browser with the web address like:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/52383228@N03

The last part of the address '52383228@N03' is the user ID you need.

If the last part looks like a username etc, for example:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mysupergallery

you should find out the user ID.

There are online services that allow you to find the user ID by the Flickr username or web address, for example http://idgettr.com/.

This also works for Flickr accounts other than yours.

Flickr Set ID

If you want to display photos from a specific set with the Composite.Media.ImageGallery.PhotoSets.Photos function, you will need the photo set's ID (aka Album ID):

  1. At Flickr, open the page of the account the set belongs to.
  2. Click" Albums". (In your account, click "You" / "Albums").
  3. Click the album you want to display on your website. The album will open in your web browser.
  4. Copy the last part of the web address, which is the set ID.

For example, if you open a set in the '52383228@N03' account, you might get the following address:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/52383228@N03/sets/52157626557102525/

'52157626557102525' is the set ID you need.
