Editing forms

When creating a form with Form Builder, you normally name it and add fields of your choice. You can also set a number of other options to adapt it to your specific needs.

There are 4 tabs in Form Builder:

  • Settings: The general settings of the form such as its name (mandatory), the submit button's label text and the use of CAPTCHA.
  • Designer: A user-friendly form field editor, which allows to add fields and other controls and elements as easy as by dragging and dropping them on the form. It also allows you to set each field's or element's properties such as the name, label, default value etc.
  • Submit Actions: Actions to do on the form submit. There are two actions out-of-the-box:
    • Save to file for later retrieval (pre-selected by default)
    • Send an email that sends an email with submitted data to the specified email address. (If the password is specified, the data will be attached in an encrypted ZIP file.)
  • Receipt: The text to be displayed or sent to the user on the form submit.

To add a field to the form:

  1. On the "Designer" tab, from the "Component Library" pane, select, drag and drop a component (field) onto the middle pane. The field will appear in the middle pane, and its properties will be available on the right pane.
  2. Where necessary, specify the field's properties such as the name, default value etc. Please note that each component has its own set of properties.
  3. Repeat Steps 1-2 for as many fields as you need.

Note. Along with the field-like components, you can also use formatting/decorating components like headings or separators from the right pane listed under "Text & Decorations".
